Friday's college roundup: W&M gains defensive back who transferred from Wisconsin

Defensive back Frank Tamakloe, who played in eight games last season as a reserve for Wisconsin, has transferred to William and Mary and will enroll in classes this summer.

Heading to Wisconsin, the Good Counsel High graduate from Maryland was ranked 25th among safeties in the class of 2009 by ESPN/Scouts Inc.

CNU, Apprentice head all-sports survey:

Christopher Newport finished first for the fourth consecutive year in the Virginia Sports Information Directors College Division all-sports survey, winning at a .743 clip (248-85-2).

Apprentice School was a best-ever second at .639 (99-56) among the 28 non-NCAA Division I schools listed.

CNU had the best men?s mark (122-44-1, .734), followed by Lynchburg and the Builders. Apprentice had the best women?s record (23-4 in basketball, .852).
